Tips for living the best experience in Machu Picchu

Many times when we listen about Cusco, we come to mind that wonderful and full of energy place called Machu Picchu. Well, the goal of many tourists to travel to the imperial city, is to be dazzled by this place; so we leave some tips for your visit to the Lost City of the Incas, it will be your best experience of your life. Take notes and start packing.

Stay in Aguas Calientes or Machu Picchu Town:

To enjoy peacefully in Machu Picchu it is advisable to go early in the day. Therefore, we advise you to stay in Aguas Calientes, so enjoy the tourist attractions of the area and calmly choose a day to go to Machu Picchu.

Buy your ticket to the citadel in advance:

The demand to visit Machu Picchu has increased in recent years, and although you can buy your ticket at the door, it is very risky to do so because the number of visitors per day is only 2500 people. So you better buy your ticket, both for Machu Picchu and for climbing to Huayna Picchu, on this website http://www.machupicchu.gob.pe/.

Choose the train in which you will arrive to Machu Picchu:

One of the most comfortable ways to get to the lost city of the Incas is by train. There are 2 railway companies in which you can do it. First is PeruRail, with several daily services, including the luxurious Hiram Bingham train; and the second is IncaRail, also with economic and luxury services. For either company, we recommend that you buy the ticket in advance through your web pages.

Take precautions on height:

Machu Picchu is located at 2400 meters above sea level and the summit of Huayna Picchu at 2700, a considerable height that may cause altitude sickness to many people, therefore, we recommend taking precautions and take pills and if possible drink mate of coca.

That’s it, just make sure you have your tickets ready, in advance, arrive early so that you can enjoy more time of the wonderful scenery and take the necessary precautions. Do not forget your camera, and comfortable clothes. Are you ready? We are waiting for you at Ferre Machu Picchu!
